About

Hello and Welcome!

My name is Susan Michaud, and I am a lover of the English language whether I am reading it, writing it, copy editing, or proofreading it! With a desire to eventually homeschool my children, I studied English with an emphasis in secondary education at Metropolitan State University in Denver, Colorado. I loved spending time in literature, honing my writing process, and even working in the writing center helping other students hone their skills.

I homeschooled three beautiful sons and have fond memories of sharing my love of reading and writing with them. We enjoyed classics, historical fiction, research, and newspaper articles. We would read aloud to each other and write journals and stories and, of course, reports. After an amazing run of twenty-plus years and watching my “baby” graduate, I continued to enjoy reading and the writing process; however, I was always aware that spotting those pesky typos and usage errors would at times ruin the read for me.

When we retired and moved to the central Rockies of Colorado, it finally occurred to me that having a knack for finding errors in the written and spoken word could help other word lovers like myself. I researched and discovered that, indeed, there is a need in the world of words for souls like mine, and even a course to make me more skilled.

So amid the pandemic in 2020, I hunkered down, learned, and relearned the art of correct usage and finding those pesky mistakes.

Below is a copy of my certificate of completion. I’ve also taken copy editing courses through EFA (the Editorial Freelancers Association). You can find testimonials from previous clients here or on my LinkedIn page.

So now, here we are, and instead of being annoyed, I’m equipped to help you stand out from the crowd with polished pieces that will wow your readers. Let’s get busy!
